  • Leaves are glossy green or purple
  • Prefers full sun in any well drained soil
  • Flowers are single, small, pink, cream or green spotted purple
  • Flowers from summer to autumn
  • Propagate in spring from seed or division
  • The Xhosa people use bulbs boiled for rheumatism (a poultice)
  • Comes in different colours – purple, green, pink
